Congratulations to Village Tech’s Award-Winning Muse, Senior Carlyn Knight
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s Talent Hunt Foundation scouts new talent and supports and enhances projects, programs, and activities for talented and motivated youth in the performing and visual arts. They provide scholarships and support for High School students who participate in all forms of the visual and performing arts.
Our very own talented Carlyn Knight, Senior Squid at Village Tech, took first place in a Talent Hunt competition for Omega Psi Phi fraternity this weekend AND won a prestigious $1000 scholarship for her singing performance!
Carlyn is a dynamic student who plans to attend Paul Quinn College (Dallas) to major in Business. She engages in many extracurricular activities both in and outside of school. She is an active member of the Theatre department here at VT, the DCAD Division of Gospel Workshop, the Black Academy of Arts and Letters Promising Youth Program, The Choir Hour, and is a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
What’s next for Carlyn’s singing career? She will go on to compete in the next round of Omega Psi Phi’s next round of local competitions, and if she wins she will go on to the district level, and then compete internationally.
She is an inspiration to us all and is blessed with a beautiful, award-winning voice. We’re very proud of her and we’re all rooting for you, Carlyn!
If you have never been blessed to hear her sing, please watch this video of her performing!
