Mosaic

Mosaic

Mosaic: Exhibition of Learning 2022
At this annual Student Exhibition of Learning, over 3,000 guests interact with our Pre-K through 12th-grade students as they display design challenges, explain their design process, and describe their growth as they overcame challenges. At Forge On we experience how our students are able to work together and discover solutions to real problems while applying their professional, technical, and academic skills.

At Village Tech we are equipping students for the world beyond school. Mosaic is a moment to capture the passion, creativity, and impact of students.

Students at every grade level present their research, design process, innovative solutions, and learning outcomes at the exhibition. Some challenges you might have seen in the past: Pre-K students bringing awareness to recycling and waste consumption, 5th-grade students organizing food drives and creating care packages for their community in need, Juniors presenting their professional internship experiences, and Senior designed Odyssey capstone projects.

Youth & Government

Youth & Government

Youth & Government is a program that seeks to help teenagers become responsible citizens and future leaders of our nation through an actual hands-on experience in government.

Village Tech Schools students participate in an annual Student Exhibition of Learning that illustrates how students are equipped for the world beyond school. At this event, over 3,000 guests interact with our Pre-K through 12th-grade students as they share the culmination of a team design challenge, explain their process of working together, and describe challenges overcome. It is a moment for students to share their passion, creativity, enthusiasm, and self-confidence in a project where their professional, technical, social-emotional, and academic skills come together.

Theatre

Theatre

Performing Arts
Theater gives students a place to develop a voice, a character, a set, an experience, and an opportunity to discover talents and passions.

Creativity is at the heart of student engagement and experiences in education. At Village Tech, students have the opportunity to participate in fine art experiences such as theater, tech, choir, and more! Participation in the arts is a key component in improving learning throughout all academics.

Our theater students have performed for over 3,000 guests! Get involved and support the performing arts at Village Tech through volunteering or sponsorship.

If you would like to support the arts at Village Tech or would like more information, please email Elizabeth Podany.

Travel

Travel

132 students have traveled internationally since 2013.
At Village Tech we believe that experiencing the world through foreign travel changes students’ lives. Here we encourage students to learn by doing and experiencing, that is why we have partnered with organizations to give affordable travel opportunities that further a student’s education and understanding.

Odyssey

Odyssey

What is the Odyssey Program?
The High School Odyssey Program prepares our students for the next chapter of their life; filling them with knowledge, insight, and tools to equip them for the journey ahead. The goal is to provide three essential elements: business viability (academic), technical feasibility (career and technical), and human desirability (social-emotional).

There are 5 stages:
Initiate – Finding student’s interest (9th grade)
Discover – Students research careers, personalities, and life goals (10th grade)
Explore – Students prepare for college and internships (11th grade)
Approach – Students plan a capstone challenge (11th grade)
Summit – Execute the Approach (12th grade)

Senior Summit

Senior Summit

Senior Summit allows student teams to create their projects and learning experiences by working with users to define challenges and design solutions.

The Senior Team works with several diverse teams each year that manage projects that address 8 Domains:

  • Compassion
  • Initiative
  • Solution Focused
  • Inquisitive, Creative
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Confidence

This cycle encourages design through feedback and a positive growth mindset.  Summit allows students to guide their learning and to become involved in relevant and real-world issues. The village has had teams produce work in various fields such as esports development, conservation, automotive mechanics, STEM applications, audio/video productions, business development, and school spirit. The results of Summit stay with students long after graduation and the skills and experiences can be applied to success in furthering education, the workforce, and personal development.
