Student Experience

Life at VT

We believe students should be given opportunities to develop their own voice and leadership skills, to work on meaningful design challenges that teach both the academic and the technical, to be known by their teachers and peers, and to serve and lead in their local community.

Village Tech Schools cultivates character by pairing virtues with good habits and weaving character lessons into the design of subject matter helping students learn through actions that honesty and compassion are good. For example in science, teachers may discuss the value of honesty in data, and in math, students can learn persistence by sticking with a problem until they get the correct answer.

Village Tech Schools teachers design challenges where students work in teams across different disciplines and apply what they learn to find creative solutions to real-world issues like homelessness, learning differences, and climate change. In the process, students learn about current events, teamwork, consensus building, and deeper learning.
