Connect

About Connect

Parents and businesses, nonprofits, and neighbors beyond our campus encourage and support our success.

Connect is the “PTA” at Village Tech!  VT Connect meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month during the school year. We aim to discuss topics that parents will find useful and help connect with each other in a social setting. If you have any general questions about life at VT, please email connect@villagetechschools.org. While our team may not be able to answer homework questions, we will do our best to provide accurate and up-to-date information!  Please also join our Facebook groups.

Dresscode

The Campus Director has the final discretion to determine if expectations are met with the Dress and Grooming Policy. If in violation of not being modest, respectful, or safe, the student will remain in class for that day with the expectation of not repeating the offense, or with a more severe violation, remain in the office until a change of clothes can be brought to the school (unexcused absence from class). For more information, please visit the Student Handbook.

The School’s Dress and Grooming Policy is designed to teach grooming and hygiene, prevent disruptions, minimize safety hazards, and provide a dress standard that offers flexibility for the parent and student. The operating words for these expectations for Village Tech Dress and Grooming Policy are modesty, respect, and safety.

A school dress code poster with a purple background titled “DRESS CODE” at the top. It is divided into two columns: “DO’S” on the left and “DON’TS” on the right. Each row contains a visual example and a rule. 1. Jeans: • Do: Frayed jeans are okay. • Don’t: No jeans with holes unless patched or worn with tights. 2. Shoes: • Do: Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are allowed. Crocs are acceptable in “sports mode.” • Don’t: Crocs in “relaxed mode” are not allowed. 3. Tops: • Do: Tank tops with straps two fingers wide or more. No midriff showing. • Don’t: Crop tops or spaghetti strap tops. 4. Bottoms: • Do: Shorts and skirts must be modest—mid-thigh or longer. • Don’t: Short shorts or skirts above mid-thigh.
School supplies

Supply List

Below are our suggested school supply lists for all grades and for all campuses for 2025-2026. When we return to the classrooms, these are the items that we will need. If you feel compelled to do so, we always need extra sanitizers and tissues!

Technology

9-12 graders are expected to bring devices to class. For more information contact Joe Cain, Technology Director

Immunization

The State of Texas requires that every child in the state be immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases caused by infectious agents in accordance with an established immunization schedule.

Proof of immunization may be shown through personal records from a licensed physician or public health clinic with a signature or rubber-stamp validation.

Bacterial Meningitis

In the 86th Legislature, HB 3884 required the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to create procedures for school districts to provide information relating to bacterial meningitis to students and parents. This requirement was previously assigned to the Texas Education Agency (TEA). DSHS has created a website with bacterial meningitis information aimed at students and parents.

School Weather Policy

In typical Texas fashion, the weather can turn from tank tops to toboggans in less than 24 hours. With winter comes the potential for inclement weather. In the event of a delay to the start of school or the close of school, Village Tech will make the decision as early in the day as possible, preferably no later than 6:30 AM.

We will monitor the weather closely during the day. In the event of an early dismissal, the media below will be used as well. Parents are always welcome to pick up their children during the school day if they feel it necessary. We want to ensure that students are able to travel safely home from school.

We will communicate through the following media:
Village Tech Website
Newsflash Parent Email
Village Tech Facebook page
TV Stations: Channels 4,5, 8 and 11
